Cantor Barbra assisted in preparing my son for his Bar Mitzvah. She was lovely to work with and very organized. Her patience and kindness made my son very comfortable learning the materials for his special day. The Cantor orchestrated a service that was meaningful and included all of our requests.
I cannot rave enough about the incredible experience not only our son had with Cantor Barbra, but one that was also enjoyed by our entire family. Although I come from a very traditional religious educational background, I was introduced to Cantor Barbra as an option that would fit well into my family dynamics and my family's needs. Her warmth and passion to sharing her love of Judaism with my children was apparent from the start. The beauty of her voice filled my home each week, and I loved being able to be the "fly on the wall", listening as my son was learning about the traditions of Judaism and the prayers that have comforted me since I was a child. I marveled how much knowledge that she imparted in my son in less than two years. Under Cantor Barbra's tutelage, not only did my son master both his Torah and Haftorah portions, but he learned many of the prayers from the Havdalah service and was able to lead our family in them. My husband and I could not have been more proud on the day of his Bar Mitzvah! Most cherishable was the fact that we were able to have his Bar Mitzvah at our home with the presence of our immediate family -- the intimate setting that we most desired and which most fit our son's personality and desires. It was an evening that we are all still raving about! I can't thank Cantor Barbra enough for her part in creating a night that we will always remember and for helping to ignite in our son a love of his heritage!
Cantor Barbra made a memory that will last a lifetime. With our daughter not knowing any Hebrew, Cantor Barbra taught her how to read from the Torah, sing lovely prayers and make her family glow with such pride. Cantor Barbra is the sweetest person to work with, always accommodating with having the utmost patience and a beautiful singing voice. Since my family comes from the traditional way of a Bat Mitzvahs of having the ceremony in a temple, I had some relatives skeptical of how "our" ceremony would be having it in a hotel. Let's just say, that it is one month later and I still have family and friends complimenting me on how wonderful the ceremony was. Cantor Barbra made everyone feel important and part of the ceremony. She included everything of a traditional Bat Mitzvah and more. My husband and I are so proud of our daughter for the amazing job that she did on becoming a Bat Mitzvah and we will always be so grateful to Cantor Barbra for making it all happen.

Cantor Barbra presided over our daughter (and niece's) joint baby naming. She did a wonderful job creating a program that was reflective of our whole family and who we would like our daughter to be. Barbra's choice of prayers, readings, poems was thoughtful and articulated all the emotions and hopes we could not otherwise express. We can't wait for her to do our second baby naming!
Cantor Barbra spent approximately fifteen months with my son, with a number of breaks for holidays and vacations. In that time, she taught my son Hebrew from start to finish and prepared him for his Bar mitzvah. My son had only a very rudimentary knowledge of Hebrew before that, so essentially Cantor Barbra took him in as a total beginner. The final result was amazing. He did so beautifully at his Bar mitzvah - chanted his Torah portions flawlessly, helped to lead the blessings and songs, and presented his speech like a pro. Moreover, Cantor Barbra has a beautiful singing voice, which made the service that much richer and more enjoyable. Finally, Cantor Barbra was gracious in helping us to incorporate all the special elements we wanted to have in our particular service, in order to make the service our own and unique to our family. I highly recommend her!

For years and years I was researching temples, tutors to find the right fit for Stephen. You were the missing piece to our puzzle. When we first met you we felt a great presence and energy from you.
I really needed someone that would motivate, inspire Stephen to want to learn Hebrew. Within a few minutes of meeting you, we both felt like you were the one. Stephen also told us that he was comfortable with your warm, friendly, welcoming personality. I felt so lucky that we had found you on Google. It was definitely a precious gift.
From week to week I saw tremendous growth when you came to our house over the past few months. Stephen would always, or at least tried his best to be prepared. I saw that he was taking an interest in what you were teaching him. Learning a language for Stephen honestly is a very challenging task. I honestly am not sure how you did it, but he just started becoming focused and motivated to learn the material. There was nothing I had to do; you took care of everything from A to Z. You are very organized, consistent and we truly believe that you had a general interest in Stephen's well being. We knew you cared and that your personality made a difference. I know that you were not only proud of Stephen's hard work as much as we were, but you really went above and beyond to make everything right. You absolutely love what you do, and it shows.
The service was so beautiful. You have a beautiful voice, like an angel. To have you sing and perform the service in our home was an honor. We were so impressed of Stephen's chanting, as well as his pronunciation of the Hebrew. Also the way you taught him to read the Torah was wonderful. We love how you made everyone feel special that day, including my 7-year-old daughter Emily whose task was to dress and undress the Torah. Stephen is very proud of himself. He has accomplished a great task, matured, and he is a "mensch". He is a man capable of being and doing anything that he puts his mind to.
I highly recommend Barbra for ALL of your Jewish Religious needs. She will come through from beginning to end with a smile. You can really count on her to take care of everything and support and guide you through it all. My entire family wants to thank you from the bottom our hearts for the “miracle” you accomplished by preparing my son, Adam for his Bar-Mitzvah. We never felt so proud as when Adam was on the bimah, saying his prayers so confidently. We all know how hard it was to accomplish this goal. Adam has some special problems and after years of attending a local synagogue, it became apparent that he could not go forward with the Hebrew class.
We tried various other teachers, but it was always the same, Adam learned very little. But when you were retained, everything changed. Adam’s attitude, originally defiant and lacking any interest in learning his obligation, turned quickly into a goal that he personally wanted to succeed. I am not sure how you did it; you both worked very hard and on that day, at the bimah I could not only see the glow in his and his mother’s face, but I saw the glow in your face.
