It has been a pleasure and privilege having you work with our daughter, Rachel over the past 10 months in preparation for her Bat Mitzvah. When you first came to our house, you made us feel at ease with your warmth and smile. We just knew that having you tutor Rachel was going to be the right decision. Well, we could not be happier…Rachel’s bat mitzvah was just wonderful and you guided her to reach her full potential and we could not be prouder of Rachel’s achievement. It was the best decision for Rachel to be privately tutored in preparation for her Bat Mitzvah and she thrived and achieved so much with you. Under your guidance, Rachel helped lead the service, chanted 3 Torah portions and wrote and recited a speech about her interpretation of her Torah portion and the mitzvot that she performed. The service was special, personal and exuded warmth and love. Rachel was the first of your students to read from your new Torah. Seeing the confidence and growth in Rachel over the months that you worked with her and then on her bat mitzvah day was a parents dream come true.

I thank you for your professionalism, your thoughtfulness, and your unbelievable ability to transform a ballroom into a sacred space, which is not an easy task. Your service was impeccable, with such feeling of warmth and love. I cannot thank you enough for this. People couldn't stop talking about the service and how touching and moving it was. They all couldn't believe you were able to accomplish such an unbelievable goal in such a short time and how amazing the girls did. No cheat sheets... They read the Hebrew and from their speeches they understood their torah portion and were able to speak about it. I once again thank you for a wonderful job. Without you, this day never would have become a reality. I wish you and your family all good things in the future.

We want to thank you for preparing our son for his Bar Mitzvah. We are truly honored that you provided our intimate service at our home. My entire family thanks you as well. What you accomplished and prepared our son for in such a short time was truly AMAZING! You made a difference in all of our lives. For years and years I was researching temples, tutors to find the right fit for Stephen. You were the missing piece to our puzzle. When we first met you we felt a great presence and energy from you.
I really needed someone that would motivate, inspire Stephen to want to learn Hebrew. Within a few minutes of meeting you, we both felt like you were the one. Stephen also told us that he was comfortable with your warm, friendly, welcoming personality. I felt so lucky that we had found you on Google. It was definitely a precious gift.
From week to week I saw tremendous growth when you came to our house over the past few months. Stephen would always, or at least tried his best to be prepared. I saw that he was taking an interest in what you were teaching him. Learning a language for Stephen honestly is a very challenging task. I honestly am not sure how you did it, but he just started becoming focused and motivated to learn the material. There was nothing I had to do; you took care of everything from A to Z. You are very organized, consistent and we truly believe that you had a general interest in Stephen's well being. We knew you cared and that your personality made a difference. I know that you were not only proud of Stephen's hard work as much as we were, but you really went above and beyond to make everything right. You absolutely love what you do, and it shows.
The service was so beautiful. You have a beautiful voice, like an angel. To have you sing and perform the service in our home was an honor. We were so impressed of Stephen's chanting, as well as his pronunciation of the Hebrew. Also the way you taught him to read the Torah was wonderful. We love how you made everyone feel special that day, including my 7-year-old daughter Emily whose task was to dress and undress the Torah. Stephen is very proud of himself. He has accomplished a great task, matured, and he is a "mensch". He is a man capable of being and doing anything that he puts his mind to.
I highly recommend Barbra for ALL of your Jewish Religious needs. She will come through from beginning to end with a smile. You can really count on her to take care of everything and support and guide you through it all. Cantor Barbra, you made this special day 10-10-10 possible for us , and we will always be grateful to you. Thank you, and we will miss you.
My entire family wants to thank you from the bottom our hearts for the “miracle” you accomplished by preparing my son, Adam for his Bar-Mitzvah. We never felt so proud as when Adam was on the bimah, saying his prayers so confidently. We all know how hard it was to accomplish this goal. Adam has some special problems and after years of attending a local synagogue, it became apparent that he could not go forward with the Hebrew class.
We tried various other teachers, but it was always the same, Adam learned very little. But when you were retained, everything changed. Adam’s attitude, originally defiant and lacking any interest in learning his obligation, turned quickly into a goal that he personally wanted to succeed. I am not sure how you did it; you both worked very hard and on that day, at the bimah I could not only see the glow in his and his mother’s face, but I saw the glow in your face.
We just want to thank you again for helping our son reach such an important milestone in his life! We know that without your support, patience, and gentle guidance Zach would not have learned his Bar Mitzvah material. We enjoyed watching his growth weekly over the past year and have to say we miss seeing you. We are so thrilled with the Bar Mitzvah service you led the day of Zach's Bar Mitzvah that we would be honored to be a reference for other families in the future. Traditional Hebrew School was not working out for our 11 yr old son. After months and months of fighting and aggravation we withdrew him from the school with nowhere to turn and a lot of uncertainty. I stumbled upon Cantor Barbra's web site and arranged a meeting. After meeting with her and our son, we knew our problems were over! We set up a schedule and within the first lesson my son became interested in Hebrew and Torah learning again! She was flexible and open minded to our specific needs. Cantor Barbra came to our home every week and took care of all the details, big and small. It could not have been easier and Zach's Bar Mitzvah finally seemed like a happy event to look forward to. Our family and friends said that they had never been to a Bar Mitzvah so full of meaning and joy! It was wonderful and he had a big smile on his face the whole time. We know for a fact this would never have happened had we not met Cantor Barbra. We cannot recommend her highly enough. She comes to your home, which is so convenient with all of our busy schedules. My wife and I decided that we were going to have our son Alec receive private lessons for his Bar Mitzvah. After speaking to several people I was reading the Jewish Standard Newspaper and found Cantor Barbra. After speaking with her for 5 minutes I knew she was the perfect person to prepare my son for his Bar Mitzvah. My son loves the lessons each week and now understands what it is to be Jewish. Cantor Barbra’s teaching methods are perfect for my son and I cannot believe how fast he is learning to read Hebrew. Finding Cantor Barbra was a blessing for my son and my family.

My mother passed away a year ago and we needed to have the unveiling for her. I asked Cantor Barbra if she knew of anyone that could perform the ceremony for us and she replied that she could. I knew immediately that the ceremony would be special because she is a sweet, loving and sincere person. On the agreed upon day, she arrived promptly and was fully prepared to lead the ceremony for us. I remember her asking us for our memories of my mother and before you knew it everyone had something to say. For those there who couldn’t read Hebrew she made it easier for them by having transliterations of the prayers available. Cantor Barbra made the unveiling a warm and special time for my family and I and we thank her.
