Cantor Barbra and her tutoring program are wonderful.  Our daughter has been privately tutored by an amazing tutor for over three years under the supervision of Cantor Barbra and just had her bat mitzvah.  Our daughter was not only extremely well-prepared for her big day, but now has a wonderful knowledge and understanding of her Jewish roots and religion. Cantor Barbra ran the most beautiful service.  But beyond that, she was an absolute joy to work with.  Knowledgable, kind and patient.  I cannot recommend her enough!

His tutor, Teresa Rogers, was an inspiration to our entire family, as we all learned along with her. Cantor Barbra did a fantastic job at our wedding ceremony! Based on the information we provided her, she told charming, witty, and funny stories about our relationship which our friends and family absolutely loved. In addition, Cantor Barbra spent time speaking with us before the wedding to make sure we were prepared. Any couple would be very lucky to have her as their cantor at their wedding. Cantor Barbra and her team were an absolute pleasure to work with. We had tried the traditional synagogue route to teach our son Mason about Judaism and to prepare him for his Bar Mitzvah, but we found that it was too difficult to coordinate our busy schedules with Hebrew School. When we learned that Cantor Barbra would be able to set Mason up with a small group of kids from our town to meet for weekly lessons, we knew it would be a great solution. Cantor Barbra, along with Mason’s tutor Cammy, did a fantastic job teaching him about Jewish history and traditions and helping him prepare for his Bar Mitzvah. The ceremony was beautiful and went off without a hitch. Cantor Barbra was so easy to work with and we really appropriate the special memory she created with her customized service tailored especially for our family. We look forward to working with her again for our younger son!

Cantor Barbra was so great to work with. We started planning a Bat Mitzvah and ended up with a B’Not Mitzvah for our two daughters because of Covid. She made sure that both girls learned what they needed as they were at different levels. It was a lovely service with a beautiful setup and everyone complimented us on it.

It all started when Gavin was going into 6th grade and didn't want to continue with the religious school at our synagogue. During our search for an alternative plan so that my son could prepare for his Bar Mitzvah, some of our friends spoke highly of you. After meeting you and working with Cammy for over a year, we knew we had made the right decision. Not only were we able to create a program that worked best for Gavin but he could not have been more prepared and you led an outstanding service that was beautiful, professional and engaging. I only hope to be able to do it all over again for my younger son. Thank you Cantor Barbra for providing a wonderful service and creating a special memory in our lives.

As you know, because of the Pandemic it had been almost a year since Parker had been in Hebrew school, and he was a little rusty to say the least. But, with Cantor Carey’s and your conscientious tutoring, Parker felt really comfortable with all the prayers, his Torah portion and everything else he had to do during his ceremony. He did a great job, and we were so proud of him.

As for the service, even though it was a small number of attendees and somewhat informal affair at our home, you made it truly beautiful and meaningful. All of our family members who attended couldn’t stop talking about how perfect the ceremony was.

We have been so fortunate to find someone like you to have worked with our son and made his Bar Mitzvah something truly special in our home. Both you and his wonderful tutor Estelle made his experience both a warm and enriching one-and that is because of the warmth and caring guidance you provided for him. Both of my sons received their Hebrew education from private tutoring through Cantor Barbra. Cammy, their teacher, is not only an incredibly patient educator, but also a lovely, intellectual, and caring person. The in-home (or virtual) sessions fit our packed schedules nicely and the boys could really focus on the material.

Cantor Barbra officiated both boys' bar mitzvah's, the first, a backyard tented "BBQ-Mitzvah", and more recently, a "Zoom-Mitzvah." Each event was so special. We were able to customize everything to meet our children's needs, interests, and what's most meaningful to us.
